Charlie Wilmerding, Chief Executive Officer

Charlie Wilmerding is the founder and CEO of Altus Partners. Since 1997, the firm has delivered property and casualty insurance brokerage and risk management services to individuals, families and corporations throughout the U.S. and worldwide. 

Before starting Altus, Charlie began his career as an underwriter in Chubb’s New Haven office before moving to Johnson & Higgins in New York and then Philadelphia. He is currently a director of Trava. He is the former chairman of the board of trustees of Pomfret School, a former trustee of the Overbrook School for the Blind, the Montgomery School and Gladwyne Montessori School, as well as a former director of the Chanticleer Foundation, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, Rittenhouse Square Indemnity, Ltd. (Bermuda) and the Fishers Island Development Corporation (FIDCO). 

Charlie earned a Bachelor of Arts from Trinity College. He and his wife have three grown children and live in Villanova, Pennsylvania.

Hank Clement, Managing Director

Hank Clement is a Managing Director at Altus Partners. With over 20 years of experience managing insurance and risk management programs worldwide, Hank is a go-to leader for large-scale property and casualty risk management strategies.

Hank works with multi-billion dollar corporations, professional services firms, foundations and nonprofits. He’s an expert in professional liability, management liability and cyber insurance programs with diverse global experience in financial services, healthcare, higher education, and temporary staffing.

Hank is a graduate of the University of Delaware. He lives in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, with his wife and three children. He is an active member of his community, a member of youth sports boards and committees, and coached fast-pitch girls softball that competed at a national level.

Lisa Brown, Managing Director

Lisa Brown is a Managing Director at Altus Partners. Lisa has been with the Altus Partners Private Risk team for almost 20 years. Under her leadership, Altus Partners Private Risk division has grown to over 600 clients nationally and worldwide. Before working at Altus Partners, Lisa worked in the hospitality industry.

Lisa offers clients insightful guidance on the best options for personal insurance coverage. She believes each client is unique and all-important to Altus Private Risk, and she stays well-informed on insurance trends to ensure she can address every client’s needs with a customized approach.

Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education and History from Principia College. In addition, she completed the Certified Advisor of Personal Insurance program through the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. 

Chris Connolly, Managing Director

Chris Connolly is a Managing Director at Altus Partners. With over 20 years of experience, he is a forward-thinking property and casualty insurance executive committed to facilitating systematic and sustainable growth. Prior to joining Altus, Chris began his career at B.F. Saul Insurance, Inc., most recently as Senior Vice President, where he focused on generating new business opportunities and leading client advisory services. 

As the leader of Altus’s Washington, D.C. office, Chris creates and applies innovative strategies to cultivate strong business relationships with clients, underwriters and colleagues. Analytical and detail-oriented, he combines his product knowledge and risk management expertise to drive results.

Chris is a graduate of Rice University. He is a member of the Metropolitan Washington Association of Independent Insurance Agents and various commercial real estate professional associations. Chris lives with his wife and three children in Washington, D.C., where he enjoys coaching youth ice hockey and engaging in numerous philanthropic efforts, including Catholic Charities and the First Tee of Greater Washington, D.C.

Laura Dougherty, Managing Director

Laura Dougherty has been in the insurance industry for over 10 years. Since joining Altus in 2016, she has been committed to providing clients with objective advice to help them most cost-effectively manage their insurance programs. Laura started with the firm as an Analyst and quickly rose through the ranks to her latest leadership role as Managing Director.

Before Altus, Laura worked for a company in New York City, where she managed a team that identified trends, developed strategies and conserved costs for various state workers’ compensation funds.

Laura attended Saint Joseph’s University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration. She resides in Flourtown, Pennsylvania, with her husband and two daughters.

Shannon Peters, Managing Director

Shannon Peters is a highly experienced insurance broker with over 20 years of experience spanning multiple industries. With her risk management and not-for-profit knowledge, she is a key leader in complex insurance programs. She is also a trusted resource to clients and colleagues, and her expertise in multifaceted international programs is second to none.

Before starting at Altus Partners in April 2013, Shannon was a Senior Manager at Willis Towers Watson and a Client Advisor at Marsh & McLennan.

Shannon graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in General & Strategic Management and Risk Management & Insurance. She also earned the professional designation of Associate in Risk Management (ARM). Shannon is a dedicated volunteer within her community and passionate about making a difference. She lives with her husband and three children in Hilltown, PA.

Zac Cregar, General Counsel and Managing Director

Zac Cregar is General Counsel and Managing Director of Claims at Altus Partners. He joined the Altus Partners team in 2016 after serving as a senior litigation consultant at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. Prior to Liberty Mutual, Zac was an attorney at Reilly, Janiczek & McDevitt, P.C., and a legislative aide for a non-profit medical association in Washington, DC.

Zac and his claims advocacy team oversee thousands of domestic and international claims each year on behalf of our clients. In his role as General Counsel, he is responsible for overseeing Altus’ legal affairs including litigation, intellectual property and corporate matters.

Zac holds a Bachelor of Arts from Gettysburg College and Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law. He is a member of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM), Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) and volunteers on ACC’s Corporate Pro Bono Small Business Legal Clinic. Zac is also a Certified Fraud Examiner, and has authored articles on fraud, bribery and anti-corruption.

Jackie Rosci, Controller

Jackie Rosci is Altus Partners’ Controller. Jackie has been a part of the Altus Partners team since 2004, first in the role of Account Executive before moving to Controller in 2014.

Today, Jackie oversees the financial management of Altus Partners while working with the CEO and management team to implement key company initiatives and translate vision into concrete business actions. She also manages HR-related matters and works closely with information technology and administrative functions.

She graduated from Loyola University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She lives with her husband and three children in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.
